09 OCT PUNE : Today the Vishrambaug Police station Psi Mahendra Patil & his DB Unit team succeeded to nab 2 criminals with 2 country make pistols & 4 bullets along with a CBZ bike, said Sr police inspector Mr Hemant Bhat this evening.
Bhat further said that we got an information about a weapon deal, so our psi Mahendra Patil, DB staff constable Wakse, Babar, Pawar & Baba Dangde laid a trap, where they nabbed Nilesh Laxman shinde, Age 23yrs Res- Sutardara kothrud, Pune & Sambhaji Sadhu Sakpal , Age-20yrs, one notorious criminal Devendra Khaire having 18 serious offences managed to escape from the spot, during interrogation it was revealed from the accused that they were working for Gangster Sharad Mohal, who is at present in Yeravda Jail said Bhat.
Psi Mahendra Patil added that we have started search operations for the absconded accused & in short time we will arrest him also, the arrested accused will be present before the court tomorrow & we will demand for police custody, in further investigation much more weapons are expected, we have registered case under section of Indian Arm’s Act 3/25 & Mah po Act 37 (1) said Patil.
Since Pune police is concentrating on criminals, mostly all the gang’s are behind bars, till date this year 14 criminals are enforced MPDA & 63 with MOCCA and are detained in various jails of the state, police commissioner Mrs Rashmi Shukla & Jt police commissioner Mr Sunil Ramanand are personally monitoring the crime details every day, the back bone of all major criminals is broken, though the street crime & body offences are increasing, it is also noticed that mostly youngsters from 18 to 25 age group are attracted towards criminal activities, police are using help of NGO’s for counseling these youngsters & to prevent them from going towards crime said Sunil Ramanand.
