Pune 18 jan (PCP NEWS) : Today in a amazing detection the Crime Branch Unit 3 Senior Police Inspector Mr Sitaram Morey, succeeded to recover around 40 vehicles from a 12 th std student from the reputed Sinhgad Collage said DCP Crime P R Patil here this evening.
Patil while speaking with PCP News Correspondent said that, since many days various Vehicles theft cases were registered with many police stations of city and suburbs, Police Commissioner Mrs Rashmi Shukla and Joint Police Commissioner Sunil Ramanand had instructed all the force to monitor all the areas covered through CC TV surveillance, all the police officers were going through the footage, Unit 3 Police Naik Sandip Talekar while going through the footage noticed a person who was studying at Sinhgad Collage, a team was immediately deputed to the collage where they detained Mahesh Narayan Raut of 21 from Warje Malwadi Pune, and at present studying in 12 th std in the collage said Patil.
While speaking about the detection Patil further mentioned that, during interrogation the accused confessed that with the help of his friends, Mahesh Narayan Raut of 20, from Indapur,who is also studying in Collage at Indapur for B E Mech, Dhiraj Suresh Lokhande of 20 from Bhandi Shegaon Taluka Pandharpur, Dist Sholapur and Ashok Ramnath Hinge of 22, from Mungse Wadi Pathardi Dist Ahmednagar, they use to find out the vehicles key lock is damaged, which was easy to rob the vehicle, and sell the vehicles with fake papers to peoples at low price.
Senior Police Inspector Mr Sitaram Morey, who is one of the fine officer and haves around 147 vehicles seized in only ten months of his tenure, while narrating the detection said that till now we have recovered around 37 two Wheelers and 3 Scorpio Jeep, worth rupees 50,40,000/- rupees, which include 3 Scorpio Jeep, and 37 Bullet, Pulsar, Honda Shine, Honda Pleasure, Hero Deluxe, Hero Passion, Honda Activa, Honda Hunk, Honda Deo and CD 100, bikes. All the accused are having many vehicle theft cases pending against them in various police stations, since they are out after Bail, they again start to rob vehicles, which is the easiest and fast way to earn money said Morey.
Police Commissioner Rashmi Shukla also appealed the citizens to monitor their children’s, and have a regular checkup with the educational institute about their studies and other activities, as mostly all the youngsters between 18 to 25 age group are arrested in various vehicles theft cases and who are studying in reputed institutes, Parents should also check their day to day needs, by which they can come to know about their child said Shukla.
