COMPLAINANTS FOLLOWUP RESULTED IN MAJOR CHAIN SNATCHING DETECTION FROM RAILWAY POLICE : SR P I SANJAY SATAV

Pune 14 Jan 17 (PCP NEWS) : Complainants followup today resulted in a major chain snatching detection from Railway Police said the Senior Police Inspector Mr Sanjay Satav here this evening.

Satav, while speaking with PCP News Correspondent, he said that, on 18 OCt 16 Mrs Vandana Prakash Mulgundhmud of 24 from Ambernath, registered a complaint about her 20 gram Gold Chain snatched by unknown while travelling from Pune to Ambernath in Chalukya Express, the offence was registered, since then the complainant was having her followup about our investigation.

Satav, further mentioned that, due to the complainants proper followup, we gave priority to detect the offence, as the investigation was going, we received an information about some habitual chain snatchers, our team succeeded to nab Maula Ebrahim Sheikh of 42, from Keshav Nagar Manzri, Govind Vitthal Gaikwad of 30, from Mundhwa and Ganesh Siddharam Gaikwad of 30, from Mundhwa, during interrogation it was found that Govind Gaikwad is arrant chain snatcher, all the accused confessed about 5 chain snatching of various passengers in trains, till now we have recovered Two Lakh Twenty Nine Thousand Five hundred Fifty (229550/-) rupees 915 gram gold ornaments from them, and further investigation is going said Satav.

Satav, also appealed the passengers, that to prevent such chain snatching and robberies, they should not wear or carry valuable ornaments while travelling, Passengers should always co-operate the investigation agencies which can result fruitful for them. PCP/DJ 17 30 IMAG2974
