Pune 28 Jan 17 (PCP NEWS) : In the previous year we have seized 17.94 kilo Gold, worth 5.28 Crore Rupees and 159 kilo Drugs worth 25 Crore rupees said Customs Commissioner Mr M V S Choudhary here this evening.
On the occasion of International Customs Day, Dr Waman Parkhi from KPMG was the Guest of Honor, he said that, henceforth Data Analysis will be more Effective Border Management. Custom Commissioner Choudhary while speaking with PCP News Correspondent further said that, Pune Customs becomes one of the biggest customs office by seizure of 17.94 kilo gold and 159 kilo drugs, the total seizure is of the previous financial year, besides this The Central Board of Excise and Customs have taken various initiatives in which the Single Window Interface for Facilitating Trade (SWIFT) is found to be fruitful, along with this Import Data Processing and Management System (IDPMS) is beneficial for all the offices, the Revamping of Authorize Economic Operator (AEO) and the Deferred Payment of Duties and the Revamping of Warehousing Provisions had increase the revenue of all offices through out the country.
Choudhary also mentioned, that very soon we will commence the Air Cargo complex, which will facilitate EXIM Trade at the Pune International Airport, the JSW Jaigad Port in Konkan coast has been enabled VDI connectivity which will facilitate electronic clearance transaction cost and time for clearance of cargo and electronic payment of Duty, we have also bid to switch over from manual assessment to Electronic assessment. Now the passengers facilitation through Green channel at Pune Airport is more than 99%, along with this we have taken a lot of initiative during the celebration of this International Customs day, by having Health Camp and Blood Donations.
