Pune 18 Feb 2017 (PCP NEWS) : We have to give better environment to the citizens, which is to result for free and fair Elections, said the District Superintendent of Police Suez Haque, here this evening.
While addressing media regarding the Huge Bandobast deployed for Voting and Counting at the 13 Taluka Places of the District Zilla Parishad Elections, having 75 Seats and 150 other members, besides this additional Bandobast for the 5 day Cricket Test Match, played at Gahunje Stadium and At BhimaShanker for Mahashivratri, Haque said that the Voters should feel free to cast their Votes, we have to give better environment to the citizens, for this I had deployed around 5300 staff, in the jurisdiction of 36 Police Stations, which includes myself, 2 Add SP, 13 DySp, 58 Police Inspector’s, 189 API/PSI, 3704 Constables supported by 2 State Reserved Police Force companies, 1250 Home Guards, around 25 members will be in the Quick Response Team, who can reach any spot within short time, also 2 teams for Riot control are available, 71 Guards from Forest Department will help the police at various places said Haque.
Haque also added that we have done Security Audit, which has helped a lot, we have increased patroling for this civic polls, during patrolling from 11 Jan and till date we have seized property worth 10 lakhs rupees and arrested around 300 persons in 295 Prohibition cases for illegal liquor business. 3762 criminals and anti social elements have been prosecuted under various section of Indian Penal Code, around 18 Notorious Criminals are booked under MCOC Act, 43 proposals for externed has been send, 115 peoples have been prosecuted under Bombay Prohibition Act and 3 proposals for MPDA had been send to the concern authorities, we have arrested 142 peoples in 66 gambling cases and 2153 are been prosecuted under Motor Vehicle Act. While speaking about sensitive polling booths Haque said that, we have identified 171 booths which as per report are sensitive, where extra officers and well equipped staff will be deployed.
Haque, also mentioned that 99 percent license weapon holders have surrendered their weapons, this time around 50 NCC cadets and 2500 Collage students will help police and spread awareness to citizens for casting their votes, besides this, Bandobast in some part of PCMC polling booths will also be covered, we will have additional support from a one IPS, 5 ASP, 19 Police Inspector, 21 Api/Psi. Tii date we have seized 3 country make weapons with 4 live cartridges. This Bandobast will also cover the India Australia Test Match which will be played at Gahunje Stadium from 21 Feb, and at Bhimashanker, which is the holy place, where Mahashivratri will be celebrated. I had asked our force to cast their Votes in time, for this Postal Ballots have been provided to all who will be coming from out stations, as Voting is a major part of Democracy said Haque.
