Pune 02 April 2017 (PCP NEWS) : I will not tolerate any criminality in police, Policemen are meant to protect the public from criminals but they themselves have now become dacoits and looters. They are blot on police force and thus deserved to be straightaway dismissed said police commissioner Rashmi Shukla here this afternoon.
Shukla, after the dismissal of five cops at a time, of Kothrood Police station in the Demonetization case was speaking with PCP News Correspondent, she further said that, i am here to not only maintain Law and Order but to stop the corruption, i will not allow any police or administrative officials to have malpractice, citizens can come directly to me, if they are harassed by any one from my force, i will personally look in their cases, i will not bear any illegal activities from my force, said Shukla.
The police commissioner yesterday had taken a historic decision to dismiss five cops of Kothrood Police sattion, who had grabbed 66 lakh rupees on 2 Feb 2017, from Suresh Agarwal, who was intending to exchange the currency of 500 and 1000 rupees denominations to new one. Regarding the same an complaint was registered at the same police station, but the complainant was not satisfied for the investigation, so the complainant raised this issue to Media, after the news was flashed, police commissioner Rashmi Shukla herself took the cognizance and started an inquiry, in which she found all these cops guilty.
Five cops of the Kothrood police station who were Dismissed are, API Vikram Pratapsing Rajput, Police Naik Ajitram Sahebrao Shirsath, Consatble Ashwajit Balasaheb Sonavne, Pradip Zumber Shinde and Hemant Madhukar Hendre, who were undergoing an departmental inquiry, on charges of grabbing 66 lakh rupees from Suresh Agarwal, who is a businessman in city. In the due process of demonetization of 500 and 1000 rupees currency notes to exchange to new ones, he was on his way, where his vehicle was stopped by the accused, during the search police seized 66 lakh rupees 500 and 1000 denomination note, but as per the record all these accused had shown only 20 lakh rupees notes on record.
Shukla had given a very strong message to the force, that she will not tolerate such things, which the citizens of Pune had highly appreciated. PCP/DJ 14 15
