Pune 04 Aug 2017 (PCP NEWS) : To explore the skill of prisoners, we need to purchase these Rakhi’s, and various products made by them, which can encourage them to continue their skill in future, also which can be use when they are free from Jail, said the Additional Director General of Police Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhay here this evening.
The jail ADG, after Inaugurating the “Raksha Bandhan Melawa” at the Yeravda Prison, further said that, Rakhsh Bandhan is auspicious for everyone, it is not only the festival of brother and sister, but every person should tie Rakhi to their “Guru” and protector, (Rakshak) and who always shower blessings on them, consequently this the third Melawa (Meet), where we are working on the “Skill Development” program of Gents and Women’s Prisoners on mass, As per our records, various products manufacture here are having a good demand in society, as products manufacture here are of good quality, it is not possible for us to fulfill the requirements which we get from the citizens, though we are trying our level best to increase the production of various products. The products manufacture here are of best quality, anyone can shop here, where he can get good quality of Clothing Apparels, footwear, Gas Stoves, many types of Furniture, and during Raksha Bandhan, wonderful Hand Made Rakhi, said Upadhay. .
Upadhay, also mentioned that, Last year we had arranged such fair at Mantralaya with many products manufacture under Prisoners Skill Development, for five days, but it was surprising for us the stock of all products was finish in two days only, this is what our prisoners have gained in Quality. The ADG also added that, i request to the officers to increase the reward amount for these prisoners who contribute a lot through such activities, and which is to give a strong message to them for their further assignments.
Jail I G Vithhal Jadhav also said that, this project is to run in all the prisons of Maharashtra, which can help to generate some revenue for them and a good Work in the hands of Prisoners.
Dig Swati Sathe, appealed the citizens that they should purchase these Rakhi’s and tie to their family members, as a responsible citizen, it is our duty to encourage the prisoners who are also humans, which can result fruitful for all.
Jail Superintendent U T Pawar added that, many citizens have asked us to arrange meet in city so the citizens can also shop these quality products, so in the coming Diwali or Christmas we will try to display these products with prior permission in the heart of Pune, if possible for two days. Our Prisoners products are not only having quality but they are much more cheap in cost, said Pawar. PCP/DJ 17 45
