Pune 08 Sept 2017 (PCP NEWS DEVENDRA JAIN) :’Operation All-Out’, an offensive launched by the security forces to flush out militants would continue till there is complete peace in Jammu and Kashmir, said the Director General of Police (DGP) S P Vaid here today.
While speaking with our correspondent, the DGP said that on 28 June 2017 Indian Army and the Jammu Kashmir police declared “Operation All Out” to flush out terrorist from the valley, as per the sources country’s top security establishment had prepared a blueprint to deliver a lethal blow to terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir with a long term plan for a lasting peace in the trouble torn Valley, in which as many as 258 militants from various outfits have been shortlisted for this All-Out operation. The situation in Jammu and Kashmir was “much better” now compared to last year, the operation will continue, till we get complete peace in Kashmir.
When asked, whether the militants had changed their strategy in the aftermath of ‘Operation All Out‘ and in the wake of a suicide attack on district police lines Pulwama recently, he said that if the militants change tactics, so would the security forces. “In a situation like this, everyone changes their tactics. We will also change, do not worry,” he said.
When asked about the reports or apprehensions of law and order problems in the Valley in the wake of NIA raids, the DGP said people were rather “Very Appreciative” of the act of the investigating agency. “I do not think so, there is no such report. Rather, the people are very appreciative of this act of the agencies and are asking why it was not done much earlier,” Vaid said.
As many as 130 local and 128 foreign terrorists have been identified as potential targets in the current operation, according to intelligence sources. They belong to different terror groups, such as Lashkar E Toiba, Jaish E Mohammad, Hizbul Muzahiden and Al- Badr, said this officer. DJ/PCP 13 30
